Back to BMW (X3)

Hi guys!

So, picked up my car (’04 X3 3.0i Auto, 122,000 km, FSH at Agents) yesterday and I must say I am very, very happy. I had to warm up to my Lexus, but I immediately fell in love with the Bimmer. Feels like a tank and drives solidly. Adore the sound of the inline 6 – that’s the reason why I wanted the 3.0i. Managed to get hold of the previous owner and he told me that the transfer case and sunroof, both are problem areas with these cars, have been done!

Immediate plans:
- Change the water pump, all belts and all fluids
o Can you guys recommend a decent, independent workshop?
- Remove the catalytic converter
o Used TNT before – excellent work

Also, I did some reading this morning and found that the drain plugs should be cleaned before the rainy season. Has anyone had experience with this?

Loved my E36 316i and I must say, I am really happy to be back in a BMW. Next year, Z4M....

I want to add photo’s my the system won’t accept my attachments?

Congrats bud! Lovely cars these!

Maybe chat to Gizmo about having work done on your X3. He knows these M54 engines like the back of his hand :coolShake:
