B //M W Development

Hey guys..

from another thread, just to clear this up:

A standard BMW car is 100% developed by BMW.

A standard BMW car with M-Sport kit = still 100% developed by BMW (It is mainly visual with a stiffer suspension).

A M-Performance car is 70% developed by BMW, with 30% developed by //M, this could be motor tweaks and suspension setups, steering feel, response etc.

A //M car is only 20% BMW developed and 80% M developed, therefore, almost the entire car is developed by //M.

The new M Performance range is basically to offer an intermediary car between a normal BMW and a full blown //M car.. it offers more thrills than a standard BMW, but less than a //M car.

It is to compete with the likes of the S-range of cars from audi..

Saweet..

BMW Power.

So if I have an M performance part on an ///M car - what am I trying to achieve as I'm already ahead of the RS ( using ur Audi comparison ) range

You'll probably find that your M Performance exhaust makes no difference in performance, but just releases the aural pleasure of the exhaust note!

X35s were definitely made by BMW. The 70% shows when car goes in for HPFP , injectors etc

I want a 100% M built car.

Meaning they in charge of the cosmetics as well, more more more aggressive styling inside and out as well as a loud exhaust as standard. :nonono:

Unless it is a completely new model taken care of by ///M GmbH alone, the car will never be 100% ///M-built because BMW's cars are based on a series production model

Only chance of this happening is if ///M build a future BMW supercar on its own

It used to be whether it was built in the M plant or not that determined if it was a proper M or not.

Now I would say the WBS vin number says if it is an M car or not.
