With regards to the crappish quality on the ipod and aux connectors, have a look at the music quality that you are listening to. A CD will be the first prize here, but make sure you are not listening to a song on your ipod that you downloaded that has a 96 or 128 bitrate, then you are sure to get bad quality sound.

I found this with the Kia that comes standard with a USB and aux connector in the dash and the 128 bitrate sound quality om my USB stick is sometimes so bad that you can actually turn the volume up to max without going deaf or blowing the speakers. Then switch over to CD and you come close to bleeding ears... (not really, but you get the picture)

so I give up.. have made 4 or 5 cables, got no more 3.5mm audio cables to cut up & use..

got it to sound decent but only when I insert the 3.5mm cable half into the phone or ipod..

yip soldered it all good & tight.. have tried 3 or 4 different little plastic connection thingys( the thing on the end of PC cable)..

Dont know whats the problem..

even tried connecting a 3.5mm female with left + & -, right + & -, and ground..
