ATT: BMW Bakkie question

Gents,

I need to pick brains here. I am not gonna be able to die a happy man until I find this article. My question stems all the way back to '95/'96.

I use to collect the CAR magazine, when i mean collect I had many years worth of this magazine and it informed me of all the ins and outs of the cars back then.

Now my question is - DOES ANYONE RECALL THE EDITION OF CAR MAGAZINE WHICH HAD A BMW CONCEPT BAKKIE(OR TRUCK). IT WAS IN A LIGHTNING ORANGE COLOUR ON THE FRONT PAGE.

I am seriously in need of a copy of that article as i fell in love with the concept BMW as well as the insirational ideas within that vehicle.

Please guys, help me maintain my sanity as I have googled it millions of times and cant find anything, not to mention getting no reply from CAR magazine(assuming there is a new snot kop behind the desk and doesnt know the history of the company and issues which were printed.)

At least just confirm that I am not a crazy window licking BMW Fanatic! :argh:

All the magazines are still at my parents house, if you can find out what issue it is, I'm sure I can scratch it out....

@gavsadler - I wish I knew, I am sure it was somewhere around june, I think its leaning more towards 96-98...if you could pull that book for me, ill pay for it....

@Pho3niX90 - nearly but not that one, if Im not mistaken that was a later issue(somewhere around 2000+) Thanks for the effort though bud, but I think Badaz87 has hit the nail on the head.

@Badaz87 - My gosh, I thought I wasnt insane. If i am not mistaken that is the one - however I can only confirm if its the exact same one I had in mind upon identifying the interior. it had the wickedest seats i have ever seen in my life - not even the Ford GT40 Concept had such radical seats. I am however leaning towards yours...the details of the body work slip my mind, but I think its that one! Thanks a lot

Thanks Gents....I think you have all just helped me keep my sanity. :ty:

I reckon you are talking about the Pickster... It has an INSANE seat adjustment, as the seat "Pads" can be adjusted independently...

This is the interior:

WOW that brings back some old memories.

I think I might even have that book at home somewhere

Was the body not designed by Bertone?

Indeed, was called the Bertone BMW Pickster at unveiling, IIRC...

Thats a nice way to bring closure to your search.

I often wonder about some of my X girlfriends and wonder what happened to one in particular way back in the 70s....
