I know what the online stats of fuel consumption are on a V10 M5,

i wanna hear from guys that own them.

Whats your real life day to day L/100km when the car is in normal mode vs M mode.

Well, my brother owned an M6 Convertible for 4 years and he basically got 20L/100km. He used the power, but it didnt seem to vary a whole lot.

With mine the average sat around 16-19L/100km. Relative to how much highway driving I did. This also included some driving by the wife who has a heavier foot.:roflol:

If there is a //M5 in the pipe line, and thats where your heart is going, may I complicate things completly with a bit of logic.

Apart from the fuel costs, part replacement is scarce, and very expensive.

The E39 //M was sort of managable, although high, the M5 is a killer.

If your going to go that line, get a 550i in manual (not as scarce as jou may think) and work it a bit.

I know its not the S85, and that does make me a sad Panda, however its more logical, oh and the car costs half of what the M5 does as well.

I am also not just referring to the gearbox issue, EVERYTHING is expensive.

If you drive like a poor man, you'll be lucky to get 10L/Km at 80km/Ph at the coast.
Idrive is really spot on if I compare fuel used to km's travelled. Quoting from the onboard display, country trips she'll settle on 15L/Km, in town it can go to 30L/Km but that is driving it M style. Normal commuting will be between 22L/Km and 23L/Km in P400 mode. These cars do not fancy city driving.

But every kilometre is worth it. Modded she has now become a bit more thirsty and the foot a bit heavier. I got 406 kw and 544 newtons on the dyno. I will go back for a dyno printout as the dyno went into demo mode and wouldn't allow printing.

This is the type of top speed you can expect with the mods, but of course I were in a plane when this GPS readin was done. I would never :nono: never do those type of speeds. :thumbs:

There is just about nothing available for the 550i aftermarket even for normal serviceable items. There is more available for the M5. This is said from experience. Everything I needed so far had to come from the stealers unless I imported a replacement part.

I also don't believe that you can compare the M5 and 550i in performance. They are worlds apart at 103kw difference and everything else that makes it an M5 :inlove:

My 550i still sounds orgasmic though :tease:
