At last - here she is...

Hi Fellow Fanatics,

I finally got my ride back after being in the very capable hands of Zeemax.

She was a 330 in her previous life but was screaming for more power. After much deliberation we decided to transplant the 4 litre V8 from a 740 - what sounds better than a V8 :joy: The sub frame from the E39 M5 was installed in the front of the vehicle to facilitate the fiitting of the engine and to allow good handling as the former suspension was built for a straight 6. We also used the 6 speed gearbox from the M3 and had a custom propshaft built. The diff was beefed up to handle the torque but the ratios still require some modification as she goes through the gears like a 750 bike. The rear suspension was also transplanted from the M5 so hanling is quite good. The rear brakes are E36 M3 which have been cross drilled for better ventilation, and I have a set of huge discs and calipers for the front but will have to get a different set of mags as the curent ones don't clear the calipers - a nice set of csl style mags will look brilliant - or whar do you guys think??? O ya, the bonnet had to be modified to allow space to close but I do not like the way it looks - I did post a request a few weeks ago for an e90 bonnet and have searched high and low for one at second hand places and the scrap yards but to no avail :fencelook: Anyway, here are some pics in the meantime - excuse the quality but I think there must be some problem with my camera as the auto focus doesn't want to do its job properly :argh:

There are no way that our guys cannot stand up to the overseas modding scene! Good work! I would like to see someone come up with an 330d ci/ e30/ e36 cabrio as well.

I agree with you, however its not from lack of talent.

The issue is we get screwed so badly that a custom build like this is SUPER expensive,

Throughout the world, particurly in the US, modding is so much more popular simply because it is largely affordable.

I believe the SA guys have got far more talent, and we are more then capable to do better, however as soon as a guy gets good and builds a reputation, he rips the egg right out of the chicken, and does not even use lube...
