So, after owning her for about 3 weeks, I think its time for a few pics and findings of the differences between my old E60 and the F10.
First of all, its 2 totally different cars, the ride I the E60 was more direct, more sporty feel, the F10 is more refined, and doesnt have that sporty feel, and I miss that
Secondly, the F10 is faster, in a strange way, doesnt really feel faster, but with the little blue bluetooth OBD2 adaptor, and the "Torque" app on my phone, the E60 did 0-100km/h in 7.3sec, the F10 did it (same piece of road with no wind) In 6.2sec. Both in Sport mode.
Thirdly, fuel consumption on the F10 I definately better, by +-2km/l, but suppose thats because of the 8spd box.
Fourth........., well, looks, I cannot decide if I like the look of the F10 or not, I keep on going back to pictures of my E60.
Since having the F10, the 351 wheels looked to small for the body of the car, and the awfull runflats 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear, was irritating me, so I got hold of a set of style 303's, and bought 4 new (budget) Pace Alventi tyres, 255/35/20 front and 285/30/20 rear, as the 303's rear wheels are 10' wide, with the runflats the ride was hard, and the car felt like it was searching all the time, with the non runflats most of the searching is gone, but the ride even feels harder and more shaky, but well, I have them now and suppose I must keep them.
I dont think its the tyres, as I had exact same brand on myE60, and on 2of my previous E90's.
I think thats just the way it goes with 20's.
And then theres the issue of a front nr plate holder, looks like theres something missing if you just stick the nr plate to the bumper, so I ordered a colour coded nr plate holder, that will be finished this week.
I saw a E60 M-Sport today coming from the front, and I had that feeling that you get when you see a old girlfriend that dumped you years back, and you still have feelings for her.
So my advice to E60 owners, keep on to them, theres just something about them thats unique.
Dont get me wrong, the F10 is a fantastic car, in many ways, it just isnt a E60.
Here is a few before and after pics I took on friday, after fitting the 20' wheels
