Anti roll bar vs bushes

I was browsing Axis' site and looking at the suspension options for my car ( Thanks Sean) and noticed that there are options to replace the entire sway bar(front and rear) as well as replace just the bushes with powerflex ones.

While replacing the entire bar is the best case scenario and will see the most amount of benefit. I am wondering how of an improvement will one see when changing just the bushes to poly ones? Is it even worth it( when your current ones arent worn)?

I need to change the front bushes and have spoken to Sean about Powerflex ones, my rears are fine but i read on the international forums that stiffening up the front on a BMW without doing anything on the rear will increase understeer. Given that my control arms in front are powerflex and meyle hd bushes means that it should be stiffer than OEM already and I do notice understeer , but cant compare to stock .

Any thoughts... recommendations?

from what i know, and from the research i did a while back... poly's are mostly just for longevity. the main reason being that some of the bushings, like diff carrier etc are a big job and cost alot to do... so the idea being, that you would go poly to avoid having to do them again (or more often) compared to oem rubber.

i cant comment too much on handling differences, because i've only replaced my worn front ones with meyle hd's about 30,000 km's ago.. they've been great so far.

however, unless you're on a track.. where oversteer, understeer, body roll, etc are all really important, then i wouldnt stress too much over it. i highly doubt poly bushings will severely affect your handling.... well, enough to call it out vs standard rubber bushing.

understeer on a standard road car, i would guess can be caused by a few things..including tyre wear etc.

having powerflex in the front only will give you more grip in the front not less what you say about having a stiff front applies more to springs and dampers not bushings so no worries there

Bushings VS sways... really depends on how much budget you want to use there swaybars make a BIG difference to the dynamics of the car the bushings alone will not make a huge difference and are more of a refinement over stock
