Hi Guys

I use to use BMW Forsdicks (Kunene Brothers) on Rivonia road for services, and was quite sad when they closed down , as I always received excellent service from them, also I made good mates with one of the mechanics that worked there that lives around the corner from me.

and today I receive this message..
"Dear Lyndhurst Auto Customer,

Lyndhurst Auto will soon cease operating. While it marks the end of an era for the dealership, it is also an opportunity for you to drive your dream car. We have a number of models in our showroom and have tailored exclusive offers to compliment these vehicles. If you act without hesitation, you can take advantage of our final offers before we close our doors"

Should we be worried BMW??

Lyndhurst is closing its doors but Daytona Group is opening Melrose Arch Auto, corner Corlett and Athol Oaklands. So no need to be worried.

It could be the economy, but Melrose BMW opens a block away from Lyndhurst on Monday next week...

I went to Lyndhurst once when my wife was interested in a new mini. They told her that she couldn't test drive one until she had done finance application and that was basically the end of that.

She also liked the Audi S3 around the same time and there was a bunch of cars in that newer courtyard section at melrose arch and the audi salesman offered to let her test drive/keep the S3 for a weekend! :praise:

Lyndhurst were not willing to make the investment required and they had a few administrative issues with BMW for some time.

In addition they had lost the M accreditation some time ago and they were equally not considered for the battery operated cars.....something about not having enough pen light batteries in stock :)

The writting was on the wall

I used to service my previous car and my current car at this dealership and am sad to hear they are closing down as I had built a rapport with the service and parts guys.

Even my favourite CRM resigned some time back.

It is sad, but sometimes change is good, so lets hope the new dealership will give the service after sales that you get when you buy brand new and lets hope that the dealership looks after its new customers and treats the old BMW fans well also.

The economy is not the reason they are closing down.

Their franchise was pulled by BMW SA.

But Midrand is getting a new dealership right opposite the new Mall of Africa in Waterfall.

Good riddens to bad rubbish, I went there once as the OBD complained about the battery and said take vehicle to dealer immediately. They made me wait for half an hour and told me to come back in two weeks.

Parts department in Lyndhurst auto is tops. I always used them. From what I heard they are not closing down but it's in the process of being bought by another company
