Sounds like he either geared down for more acceleration and underestimated it or just accelerated too hard whilst the front wheels were still slightly turned.

Opinions on what went wrong.

The corner is really slippery and off-camber. Technical corner, especially for a RWD car. It sounds like he floored it with DSC off - not the cleverest (is that even a word) to do on the Nurburgring (but it can be fun).

according to guys at the track on the day - he had dsc full off and as he came around the corner it was damp and lost control!
