Why all that work on a 8valve engine? Its the weakest link in the chain so get rid of it right away. Don't spend money on pimping the 8valve engine up, just swap it out for a more powerful engine ie 328i motor. Believe me, I have been down that road, all the mods I did to the 8valve made me as fast as a stock M42 16valve. It was a terrible waste of money, wish I had saved it up and done the swap in the first place...

All the work is because I got that engine, & wont be allowed to Change it. Not trying to build a monster.. Just need it a bit faster than what it is.

Then rather not spend any money at all on the engine, just do everything else on the car and at a later stage when the car is in your name then do the engine swap, that way at least the rest of the car can handle the extra power. No need to build it into a monster, you can have a stock 328i engine and still have plenty fun with the car.

When I did my 316i engine up I had branches, exhaust, chip, BMC filter, 328i maf conversion, 20 thou oversize pistons, fan delete mod and it only made 15-20kw over stock, at a cost of more than R10 000. IT WAS A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY TRYING TO MAKE MORE POWER OUT OF THE 8VALVE ENGINE!!! The cylinder head cannot flow enough air to make power, thats why I went 16valve. I swapped in a stock M42 16v engine into my car and made the same power as the modded 8valve engine, plus I had more torque and revs to play with then. The M42 cost R4500 plus I still sold my 8valve engine for R4500 to recover costs.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY ON THE 8VALVE ENGINE, ITS REALLY NOT WORTH IT!!!! TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS!!!!

great looking ride. a set of sportpack rims, would look awesome.

also colour code the handles, the bonnet vent thingy (where the window washers are), the boot handle thingy and the rails on the roof.

if this is your daily driver, id say try to keep the mechanicals as stock as possible.

but this is one of the best looking pre F/L 318i's ive seen. O btw, the area where the car is parked looks great. must be nice there.

It is a clean car :)

Took those photies in my complex.. Its an ok place..

Wont really be doing anything on the car except mechanical to get it running perfect, Its got a really sloppy gear change. so gona replace the linkages.

Only gona keep it for the next year & half as I am planning on going overseas for 2 years or so after I have my degree end next year.. & My parents wont need another extra car..

So far I have now done:

* Replaced MAF & Plugs - What a difference in drive & performance, old MAF must have sucked
* Fitted 328i Shifter & replaced some bushes & Bits - Now Gearshift is much shorter & not as sloppy, Still have a few more bits to get fitted & hopefully it will be tight after that

* Fitted Indicator Stalk with BC button, Still need to get it coded so it will work

* Had to replace the radiator

* Fitted LED Interior Lights, LED Number Plate Lights, White Parks & Osram Night breakers

Still To do:

* DeCat, car has nearly 143000Km so I am thinking it is gone anyway
* Replace Control Arm Bushes & see if it fixes the crappy Handling
* Finish fitting gear linkage bushes

Some Photos of the LED lights:

its more the camera, but they are still quiet bright.

Had a 6 SMD in my girlfriends Corsa & its so bright that I took it out cause everytime you opened the door or something you got an instant headache

the front interior in the E46 has 2 x 36mm 3SMD LED's on each bulb
the rears had 5 SMD LED's on each bulb
