Congrats on the purchase bud. Get a rim with a nice aggressive concave atbthe rear as the cat can accomdate it. Check with Shaheen at the wheel shop, his an advertiser and has some sick rims.

Congrats bud, may u have many happy memories.
I also seem to have suddenly grown an itch for an E92 M but have no idea what they should be going for.

I've seen them range from 320k to 450k for '07-'09's

Thanks bud, I've already asked him for suitable mags. I'm waiting for him to get back to me. I've also looked the the rims from HMT, they got some really mean looking concaves as well

I can wholeheartedly recommend one  I've been having a looooot of fun with it the last few days. But don't use it as a daily, driving this car is an event, an experience if you will. Using it as a daily would eventually rob you of the excitement of walking up to it, opening the door and getting in, and the anticipation as you push the start button, to be rewarded with that angry growl at startup.

As far as money wise, I've not seen any cars for R350k. Admittedly I didn't wait for months looking for one so it doesn't meant they not out there. There's plenty of cars for R400k, but all the ones I looked at were in a bit of a sorry state. That's really the bottom of the range for these cars. Between R450k and R500k there's a few neat cars, in fact I saw a nice cabrio 2010 at Lyndhurst auto for R475k

Another thing I picked up is that the manuals are much cheaper than the DCTs. So if manual is your thing (and it should be) you have much more negotiation room. My car stood at the dealer for 4 months and was going for R380k, they were pretty desperate to sell it. Like the guy said, they sold 4 DCTs in the time that the manual stood there. I got them down to R350k after pointing out the sorry state of the paint and repair work done on the back bumper. I also pointed out the state of the mags and the wheels that needs to be replaced soon. I even got them to offer me R15k more for my trade in than what they initially offered.

I didn't plan initially to go for such a 'cheap' car, but after the diagnostics checked out good and I spent a considerable amount of time crawling around the car, I felt it was exactly the car I could transform into a concourse car. Other people may look at it and feel it's bland and uncared for but the the blemishes were superficial and are easily and cheaply rectified. It may very well still byte me in the ass, but I plan on doing a lot of preventative work and hopefully not find myself in a tight spot. That is another reason not to buy a car like this for a daily, cause if something needs attention you can leave it in the garage and tend to it before it breaks and thus require expensive repairs.

You better believe it. I've managed to get the boot almost respectable. Took me the whole day!! Fixing the paint job is going to take a looooot of effort but I'm getting there

Hey Ratslaaf....that's looking like a Jerez.
Congrats man.... I've been trying to do a comparison of this car with another model ( can't mention that one cos guys go crazy man) since 2012...
Im pleased you find driving it an event.

As far as the mods are concerned ..... I went with the aggressive M Perform CF boot spoiler and 12mm spacers all round with no touching.
Those spacers are now on my E93.

Forget new wheels.... The spacers change the stance of the car.
It fetches the wheel in line with the body and gives the illusion of being lower.

Do the LCI tail lights and that will freshen up the look too.

Great choice man.... Enjoy it, especially the cold starts- lol

Ah, thanks Jerez it is Jerez :)

Yeah, the cold starts are a little rough hey. I generally leave it to idle for a little and pretty much keep the rpm below 3k until the yellow line stops moving on the rev counter. Till the oil sits just under 100deg I don't go above 4500 rpm.

After that, hehe, I'd rather not say :rollsmile:
