why is no one importing these parts and selling them in SA? seems like there is money to be made if you bringing in large amounts...

Apparently a few companies have tried something along these lines and had all goods confiscated via court order obtained from BMWSA lawyers.

Just have a look at autostyle website as well, they are very careful to add (non-original) to all the BMW parts.

thats dirty...

BMWSA are pretty much a bunch of scum, this much obvious.

(I can almost count on both hands the number of times the guys at the parts departments have told me that it would be better if I just import it privately)

They do that so that you can buy a new BMW.

They'll just track the website's host and then to you :fishwack:
or you use like a Russian I.P. address or something...
unless you are John Dough

Not sure if this info will help anyone but a while back I was speaking to a car dealer who mainly sells used Bm`s and is also involved in another bm club.

He gave me the contact details of a company that apparently imports BM parts. Im not sure if they are genuine or grey market but it might be worth giving them a call.

I haven't needed anything yet so I haven't tried dealing with them but when I got the phone number I squirreled it away to a nice safe place for a future date.

Maybe give the guy a shout: Kai - 011 840 6960

Their catalog had all bm part numbers in it.

Seems like the stealers have united on the price of this part

BMW Centurion - R2125
BMW Menlyn - R2125

21 Days wait.

I ordered a rear cubby for my E39 and I'm still waiting 2 weeks now.

That makes alot of sense, also explains why websites advertising BMW parts and bodykits have that (non-original) note next to it.

Is it also the same reason why this forum cant use the BMW logo ?

Yeah pretty much.
BMW wants to sell just new cars and that is all that it is about, their part prices and general behaviour say, buy a new car or fvck off, and that counts for everyone the moment you and your BMW leaves the showroom floor.

Ok, UK is a bit cheaper:

Switch surround (piece O plastic) 52 208 107 723 £19.80 GBP

Switch itself 61 311 379 078 £110 GBP

Would get these from a second hand parts detealer in the UK or in Germany!

Thanks for checking up for me, stuff is freakishly expensive for some unknown reason.
