All round advice needed

Hi guys. A while ago I posted regarding a pulley and brake shudder on my E90 320i 2011...
BRAKES
After replacing front and back discs and pads, she developed a shudder when braking, very noticeable when slowing down from 120kmh to stand stil. The bedding procedure was done. I noticed some heat spots on the discs. I took them off and went to a engineering shop. They checked it with a micrometer, definitely not warped. Ad a precaution I ask them to take off .25mm per side on all discs. I also broke the glazed surface on the pads with p150 sandpaper o a flat surface. End results... the shudder is still there plus they are screaming like pigs on the way to slaughter house. Any advice please...
Then the suspension. I replaced the front shocks as they were shot. After replacing, there is now a distinct "thud" when driving over bumps or uneven roads. Wad there anything I missed or should have checked?
Also my pulley shudder...
A new 6pk 1870 belt, belt tentioner pulley, idler pulle and crank shaft pulle was fitted. The only 2 that I did not replace was the altenator and aircon pulleys. When you apply brakes and slowly release the clutch you can clearly see the tensioner pulley dacing around...
Please if anyone can shed some light on my problems.
Regards, Dewald

Out of interest sake, what brand discs and pads did you get? Also, were they put on the car as is, or skimmed?

Asking to allow other to give you better advice.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
The shocks are monroe.
The discs and pads are ATE.

Hey bud,

The thud could be the shock mountings or stabiliser links - did you check them out?

Is there anything specific to lookout for? Because purely by looking at them, teyy seem fine?

check if they are firm or if there is a bit of play. top mounts - push hard down on the car you will hear or viably see, links pull them hard and see if the move. or best take the car into a shock place and have them check all. you will also see if the rubbers are dry and cracked.

Discs are best skimmed on the car, pads could just be very hard and you wont get rid of the screeching easy - I would recommend you have your wheels checked before you do too much else - buckled rims do loads of bad things.

Wiggle them. The endlinks will move if the car is not jacked up. Maybe the swaybar bushes are finished?

I used ate for a while had issues, used surebrake had issues. Now I use meyle rotors and textar pads, no problems. If the brakes are not the problem it might be the tire or the rim. Tires that are out of round is difficult pin point straight away(been there done that :roflol:).

Maybe replace the tensioner pulley?

Have the same problem with my brakes and disc's. Have replaced it twice now and the shudder still returns after about 500km. Have replaced control arms bushes etc.

I share your frustration. I want her to be a pleasure on the road again.
