Alarm Problem

Hi Guys i need some expert advice with regards to my alarm system on my car.

I have a 93 325i e36 coupe, when i switch off the car the interior light goes on (i believe that is correct) i remove the key and inside the car it makes a beeping sound (is that correct?).

When i close the door, activate the alarm it locks the car (no sound and no indicator lights flashing to indicate that its locked(is that correct?)

When i press the button below the round button on the key it (double locks the door) and the red light on the centre consol flashers( again no sound or indicator lights flashing to indicate that the alarm is activated.(is that correct?)

Then another question, does this model car have the feature when you lock the car using the key and holding it there, roll up the windows and close the sunroof?

I also find it strange when i lock the car and "activate the alarm" i let it stand for a couple of hours, when i lift up the door handle the interior lights go on (is this correct?) Which means anybody can walk pass, lift the door handle and see everything inside, next best thing your window get smashed.

The key has the big round button on top,the bottom left is arrow pointing down and next to it is a symbol that looks like a light.

Please help

Cheers

I have a late 95 328i sedan.
Round button: double lock (can't get out of the car if you were inside) plus activate alarm confirmed by flashing red light and 1 flash from indicators. Test alarm by keeping a door open but holding the door switch in. ( Bonnet is easy) Lock the car and wait for flashing red light to blink slower. Release switch. Jap crap hooter should hoot and all indicators flash.

Arrow button: Unlock all doors and de-activate alarm. Interior lights turn on.

Light button. Interior light turn on. Longer range than unlock button.

When I lift the door handle nothing happens.

I think your car might have a switch on the door handle to lower the windows that little bit to clear the seal. (Frame less doors).

Hope this helps a little although I think there is big differences between the alarms systems of a 93 and 95. My car also has the key code reader on the ignition.
