I need to change the microfilter on my e36 this week. The airflow is pathetic to say the very least. Apart from the thread on this forum, does anyone have some other tips? Maybe a shortcut or two?

I had mine replaced today (E36) at a BM agent, set me back bout R 570.00. I must say that it's blowing beautifully now. I was told that I need to have my stepper motors replaced as well as the dial on the concole doesn't change the direction of the airflow when turned. New ones bout R 1000.00 each. These guys are crazy. I'll go for 2nd hand.

How many stepper motors in yours, I think the E34 has 10, so essentially, to replace all 10 is 10k...

Out of interest, what was the price of the filter, and the labour ?

I'm told by the techie that there are 4 motors. The part itself was R 248.00 and the labour R 250.00 and the job lasted not even 10 minutes.

I'll go the 2nd hand route on those motors. Got a quote for bout R 140.00 each @ Bemows in Pta.
