Will a faulty occupancy sensor cause a left and right side airbag fault as well?

I have all 3 faults coming up.

I fitted the bypass circuit thing, but the occupancy fault is still there...not sure if I did something wrong...one thing I did notice though is that the blue wire does not have the same number (1 & 2) on either side of the plugs...is this normal?

Hehehe....

WHat car ?

Yes, a fault on the passanger side occupancy sensor sends sends an error to the driver side satellite controller.

If its an E60 or E65... I can sort that out for you easily... I am the BOSS of E60 airbag systems :)

Only because it took me like 3 weeks to figure out that entire overly complex seriously stupid system

If your in gauteng, leave the car with me for 2 days, I can help.

And careful for false/illogical error messages such as active head restraint ZK1 which is actually the seatbelt pre-tentioner...

E39 525 touring...do I have to replace the side airbag sensors?

I scanned the car again and got the following faults:

Left side airbag sensor
Right side airbag sensor
Passenger seat occupancy sensor

I built the bypass thing for the occupancy mat using the 2 resistors and a diode, but the fault remains.

Any clue as to the side airbag sensors??

This is on a 2002 e39 525 touring

I ended up buying a seat occupancy bypass plug and 2 side airbag sensors from eBay. Fitted it and the faults are still there...

Now I'm lost :argh:

^^^ agreed, he explained to me how easy many of the things are on the 39, but need patience and time and did i say patience?

I've tried clearing, but the faults come back right away.

I'm actually tired of putting money into this car now. Probably gonna trade it in for a polo or sumtin
