airbag light suddenly on

Hi
i was casually driving home along the highway and my airbag light popped up - or at least that's when I noticed it. would it pop up while driving? or would it be on from starting up? is it linked to my battery problem?
Having a reallycrap car month! (wife's volvo's turbo died too):bangdesk:

Any ideas?

The resistance could be shot, not much you do if it is that.

Thanks Mr Occo. But what does that entail? just a new resister? any guidance before someone tries to pull the wool over my eyes.

I had the same a few months back, i just checked the connections under the seat and then disconnected the battery for a bit. It could be battery related. Mine just started working again, on the e90 its a common problem between 05-07 models, not sure on the e46.

Try what prophet said, 9/10 it's a connection, try the battery as well.

sounds like it could be related to battery problems, but will check connection before anything else. new battery tomorrow. will let you know if it solves the problem.

connection problem almost sure, check the connection under the passenger seat..

I put in a new battery this morning and took it for an alternater test. All fine.

The guys at GMW Motor Serices in Diep River plugged the computer in and yup, the battery problem was the cause - "power source". Cleared the fault and fine since then.
