Hi All,

Some advice please - if I where to purchase an E90 320d let's say about 2008/2009 privately - what would the procedure be to obtain an aftermarket warranty and who would you guys recommend?

Who gave you good service?

Motor right. Plus you can add the monthly to your repayment value or you can pay cash.

I went with innovation, but that was mostly because suzuki sa have their extended mechanical warranty with them...

I got a motorite warranty with my car through Wesbank included in my finance amount. Haven't made use of it yet so can't comment on wether or not its worth it. Just bear in mind though that they're very specific about what they cover. I phoned them when my expansion tank cracked and they didn't cover it because it's not on their list of things they cover.

I have a Hollard Motor Xtender warranty. Haven't claimed yet, but went with them because I only heard good things about them from the guys on the OPC forum.
Plus they cover R1500 per service, 2 services a year

I suppose that is risk management for you.

Once had a motorite policy on a 2001 E46 318i and the only time I claimed was when the radiator went. Basically had 1000 co payment for a 2000 job.

Got 1000 back on about 5000 investment...:yuck:

But if a turbo goes that is something totally different...

Looked at their website and their plans seem good but I don't see any prices?

And that's the maxi option, with that cover for the services? That's not bad at all. I wonder how much my premium will be for my old tractor :fencelook:

That's the only problem. They don't cover cars older than 10 years and 200 000km if I'm not mistaken :thumbdo:

But ya that was for the Maxi option with services etc

Hollard Motor Xtender covers you to a max of R30k on your engine. Mine cost BMW R140k under motorplan recently, so R30k is not going to cut it. waste of money. Take your chances or get a car in MP

Hi there - I am with Wingfield and they don't give 2 free services per year. Is this an additional charge you pay as I got given this by ABSA finance with no extras.

Hi guys
You can with call Dale or Anthony at Wingfield Motors.
Bought my 2006 E90 320i last year privately, got quick and easy finance from Dale through Wesbank. I also bought the Wingfield warranty with it. My car had 97000km back then. After few months the r/h window switch went faulty, I had it replaced at R1750, got home, faxed them the invoice and the next day they paid the R1750 back to me.

At 102000km my car started using oil and smoking while idling in traffic, took it in, common 320i fault, valve stem seals. And had the timing chain and guides replaced, they paid R13600 for the job, I paid R800 in.

Next, my diff was noisy, had bearings replaced, another R14000, I paid in R144.

So In total I claimed nearly R30000 the first year, they paid hassle free, and I still have cover till May 2014.
Altogether the warranty costed R8800, worth it over and over.

Dale and Anthony at Wingfield Finance are tops, you can contact them any time and ask them more about it.
