Help! My car is around 115k km now but is making strange noises in the rear! I'm hoping it's just wheel bearings and not the sign of a dying diff! Any history with diff trouble in these cars?

Nope.

They're not coming off the side shafts...well one of them isn't. The hub is a little rusted up it seems.

They're taking it to a specialist now to try and pull it off.

I'm out of town so feel pretty helpless.
