I've always been paranoid with after market warranties, my biggest worry is finding a reliable workshop who deals with my warranty....

Another thing is if they fit PIRATE or OEM parts. The garage I take my car to knows that I only want OEM parts & if they cant get it, then I'll get it for them.

I am currently with SA Warranties. I have not had any hassles with them.

there are basically 4 packages:

2 Year, Unlimited Mileage:

Cover is called Regent Pearl....

Standard Cover - R195.00 per month
Prestige Cover - R250.00 per month
Standard Cover with Step Up Policy - R285.00 per month
Prestige Cover with Step Up Policy - R340.00 per month

I am sure that there is a once off payment option, but seeing as I dont have that kind of money on hand, I opted for the monthly repayment option.

There are 3 vehicle classes or bands on each cover category.

Plan A - Vehicles less than 5 years old, with less than 120k km.
Plan B - Vehicles less than 8 years old, with less than 160k km.
Plan C - All other vehicles.

They are sticky about Service History, and that All work done on the vehicle be done at a RMI approved workshop. Other than that, theyre a good warranty option.

They have decent values of coverage for different components.

I have been with SA Warranties since I got my first BMW. I have had only good dealings with them. I am on my 4th BMW in 18months, and have had no complaints against SA Warranties.

Give them a call. 0860 927 726

@ XMAX do you service your car at BMW and claim from SA Warranties or at a reputable RMI Garage and they deal with claims ?

You can service your vehicle at any RMI accredited workshop. BMW Workshops are also RMI Accredited (I presume), So you could go to them and get them to work with the warranties.

Typically, a good RMI accredited Workshop would have dealings with most warranty companies, including SA Warranties and should be more than capable of dealing with your warranty.

When in Gauteng, I deal with Tunetech. They are RMI accredited and work with most warranties.

BMW is RMI accredited but theres not a single dealership in the country that works with any mechanical insurance company because BMW want their money "TODAY" and not a month later..... been there done that.

I also take my car to an accredited RMI workshop, they work with SA Warranties

We've got four E46's on Motor Mend from Innovations Group. Weve put through 3 claims so far which were paid. R275 p/month

ok cool
so i will check up on
SA WARRANTIES and MOTOR MEND
i just want to make sure that if something goes wrong that i am covered.

does anyone know the price tune tech will charge for a check up
as the car will be going for its 100 000km service and if something is bound to go in the near future i rather get bmw to sort it out now, if they will.

Whatever warranty you take up make sure it is underwritten by a short term insurance company. I know some warranty products are not. In this way in the event they mess you around you have recourse from the Fais and short term ombud as well as the fsb. Just complain to everyone until they pay. Another thing is that if you taking it out over the phone make the agent confirm all your queries. Eg) ask if scenario questions and then say you basing your decisions based on their responses. If the scenario does come up and they don't pay, you will have clear recourse for poor advice. They will then pay immediately. If you can though go for the BMW mplan option. Bite r bullet, put it on your credit card and pay monthly. That's what I will do
