I have used the Hollard Motor xtender policy over the last 5 years. It saved me a load of cash when my wife's 330D turbo went. I had to pay in about R4000 on that one. It's insurance - a grudge purchase, but when the #*$% hits the fan you're glad it's there.

My alternator went 1 month after I goy my car and motorite footed the bill for a replacement, I just had to pay labour.

I have been downright buttraped by Motorrite.....

I dont trust them, everything is a "pre-existing condition"

I had a service plan, not a maintance plan.

Clutch went, said fsck you

Gearbox went, said fsck you.

Piece of the exhaust broke off and got stuck in the turbo, "no its due to improper driving technique"

:cry::tease::nonono::flyfun:

Its been like 8 years since... but Fsck you Motorrite, with a capital D....

That’s not good news we have the moterrite service plan for the Volvo, luckily not needed as yet but this will be the last time we take out a warranty it's better to save the cash for a rainy day.

Wesbank made it a condition that I take the warranty if I wanted the finance for the car so I didn't have a choice but to go with motorite otherwise I would have gone with warranty solutions.

I know I am not a big fan of these but heard good things about

https://www.warrantysolutions.com/b2b/publicjsp/public_home.jsp

to the point where i am considering it.

Top plan is 11k

The car I am looking at had some work done. Total bill was 18k dealer pay in was only 3k

I got put onto Warranty Solutions the day I bought my car from the dealer.

The same day I met a long time old friend that I hadn't seen for 14yrs, and through him (same night) I met the Operations Manager of Warrenty Solutions...

We instantly got along well, started talking about cars and other stuff guys talk about, lucky me if something were to happen... time will tell.

I have an X5 4.4L 2005 with 120000km on the clock
I've looked at the other plans, but they all want MUCHO DOLLARS paid up-front and that covers you for a year, or 2. The Hollard policy is paid monthly and when you don't want it anymore (or cannot ) you give them 1 months notice and that's it. On the X5 I pay R657 p/m and that included a subsidy of R1500 per service for 2 services a year. I t does not have to be serviced at the Stealers either.
The web site is at www.motorxtender.co.za (I don't have any relationship with them, beside being a client!)

Stay away from AMP its underwriten by hollard it is worth nothing all they do is turn down any claim , when the pan and sealing sleeve needed doing they had refused ,before I put the claim in I claimed for the pan gasket they refused they said they only cover major catastrophic failure so I asked must I just run it tell the gearbox is dry and explodes .I will nerer buy a car with any of there products ever again I cancelled it @#ck them more storys than the stealerships

Only real aftermarket motor plans are:

CASH IN BANK

From personal experience I totally agree with P1000. If I were you I would pay that R20k for peace of mind rather then paying for something you insured for but not guaranteed.

I'm with Warranty Solutions, never claimed for anything before, but time will tell. I've always been paranoid with after market warranties, my biggest worry is finding a reliable workshop who deals with my warranty....

I service at Tune Tech, anyone know if they deal with Warranty Solutions?
