The best compromise seems to be a hybrid. Win win situation. I dont see government investing heavily in infrastructure for EV. We might reach a situation where fuel becomes super cheap and almost obsolete and we can all drive big V8's :smilebounce:

According to SONA last night, Total is exploring for oil/gas off our coastline.
So, that V8 dream is becoming a reality.

On the hybrid point, I fully agree.
There are some really good used Honda CRZs - a manual boxed sports hybrid - for sale for under R150k.

@MR_Y, you've found your toy now.. :smilebounce:

Awesome read indeed, scary how the range is only 120KM on the electric engine. The Tesla's and some other EV's seem to be doing a lot better, although I imagine the new i3 to improve the range greatly.

I personally feel as if EV's are the future, we'll be on the forums discussing how much range we get out of these batteries compared to those batteries and and if you tweak this you can reduce your 0 - 100 time from 4.0 sec to 3.8 sec etc.

No more talk of turbos, decats, down pipes, air intakes etc.
