Morning

Was traveling on a bad road when my I Drive screen went off, on and then stayed off.
Did check fuses, need some advice fixing this please.
Only thing working is the front and rear PDC.
It's a 2005 550i

Thanks

do a MOST diagnosis
iam 90% sure the problem is your radio
if it is the radio remove the radio and give it to combined electronics for repair

I'm having a looooot of issues with CCC type head units of late (like fitted to your car). Unfortunately, it's a hardware issue with these units. Once they reach around 10 years of age, these are typical symptoms that surface. I've identified what the issue is, but having a hard time repairing these reliably.

I am working on it and hope to have a decent solution soon.

it might be a simple fix like i explained above because i had the exact same issue with my E60 pdc was only working

Have you tried rebooting the system?
I think you need to press the power and eject buttons together, dont quote me , but i think there is a vid on youtube.

Yeah sure, anything is possible. It's just my luck that I get to work on all the really toasted ones...

It sounds like the MASK unit fault. I had experienced the same issue. I simply disconnected the CD Shuttle and my iDrive screen has been happy ever since.
