Advice on 135/335 purchase

Hi guys

I'm sure this has been discussed to death already but I'm going to ask anyway :bin:

My OPC is on 90000km and I feel it is time to move on. I've been wanting something different for a while now and the only cars that I would be willing to change to are the 135 or 335.

Now I need some help deciphering all of the different versions of these vehicles. What is the difference between exclusive/individual/dynamic/sport?

Basically what I am looking for is:
N54 engine
Under 100 000km
Preferably white in colour

I am still undecided on manual or auto - some input would be appreciated as to what is more reliable as the car will be driven like it should be :tiptoe:

Then what are the pros and cons between the E90 and E92 335 wrt to performance?

Why is it that some of these vehicles come with colour screen displays in the centre of the dash and others not?

If there is anything else that I should be aware of please will you let me know.

Sorry for all of the questions but I like to know what I'm getting in to before making commitments.

:ty:

Try to find an N54 LCI bud :) hensteeth but well worth it.

I have an auto and I honestly miss manual on the weekends but I definitely don't miss I on weekdays, also manuals are scarce. The auto however is brilliant and the paddles are amazing. If you getting an E92 definitely get the DCT.

The screen in the dash is a Nav Screen. Optional Extra.

Thanks bud I appreciate your help, all these different names etc are confusing as hell if you don't know what you're looking at. When did the N54 motor change to N55?

What power does a N54 motor make in stock form?

So the n54 changed to n55 late 2009 AFAIK. So its possible to find a2010 reg model

Both cars make the same power @225kw however the N54 experiences better gains when modded.

N54 is a twin Turbo and the n55 is a twinscroll Single Turbo

Dev, PLEASE make sure you get a manual!!!
You will miss the hell out of it and get frustrated, especially if you get the normal auto and not the DCT.

You ok with buying 1 of these cars out of plan?

I'll have to look into it, I have an aftermarket extended warranty on the OPC so I'd probably go the same route if the car is out of plan. Preferably still with plan and the option to extend of course

Do some pricing on aftermarket plan for a 335, got a feeling you'll have to pay an arm and a leg for it.
Also remember it is a helluva lot cheaper to extend plan in years rather than mileage.

Hey mate

I would try find one with a little plan left (then you can get all the N54 problems fixed easily) Then when plan ends do the mechanical warranty thing. The problem with motorplan is modding. And if your getting N54 you want to and MUST mod. I got mine with 6 months left on MP, got everything sorted for free (free, but had to deal with the stealers). Now is being better looked after privately and modded to rocketship speed.
E92 335i all the way. I would have loved the DCT but they are even more hard to find.

Good luck, N54 power!
