Advice : E90 335i or F30 320i

After many many fights with BMW and almost 4 months gone by, BMW is settling my car and letting me choose something else of their used car floor.

So I really need some advice guys. I do a lot of mileage in my personal capacity, mostly freeway driving from the North to the South. I average 1700km a month 1100km of which is Freeway Driving. This excludes the Durban trip every so often, 2000 - 2500km around 3-4 times a year.

My options are as below:

2010 335i lci M Sport Auto N54
Sunroof, Black Leather, PDC front and Rear White
The vehicle is absolutely clean, but the mileage is 94xxxkms :fencelook: I love this car, it ticks all the right boxes with the exception of xenons but I am worried about maintenance out of plan, the dealership has offered me an aftermarket warranty, 2year unlimited KM. Its a really good deal for the price.

My other option is:
2012 320i f30 sportline
Sunroof, 18", pdc
Coral Red Leather :fencelook:
70xxxkm.

So my dilemma is as much as I fear a 335i out of plan, I fear a F30 out of plan more as I want to keep the car for at least 2 years. The f30 is newer and the interior is great with the exception of the red seats and it also doesn't have xenons. The consumption is awesome but boy does the 335i go :inlove:

anybody got any advice for me? 335i out of plan with an after market warranty or bite the bullet and get the 320i.

:ty:

What is the price of the 2? close to each other?

Power = e90 335
Everything else = f30 320d ( With the new auto box i was very impressed )

Having owned neither_ I would say the 320i would be lighter on fuel compared to the 335i especially with the mileage you doing.

Assuming you paying for your own fuel, why not check for the F30 320d or E90 330d?

Can't they source you one of them?

As a daily driver, the 320i makes more sense.
But i would still most probably go with the 335i, but thats just me

Hmm tough one.. F30 320i is probably your best bet between the 2 mentioned.. Mileage suggests it's an earlier model F30 as well, just make sure what was done on the car too.

Theres about a 70k difference in price between the 2, the f30 being more expensive.

There is also a 320d e90 msport on offer at around the same price as the 335i, exact same spec but 110xxxkms. If I buy this though I will def do SW and DP. The e90 330d is so scarce esp msport.

Yes not msport:cry: if it was msport I would have taken the 320i in a hearbeat. The non msport will age me drastically :sorry: no offence

ill take the 335...

In my head I already bought the 335i  but I just need a valid point to put me off it.

anybody with a 335i above 100xxxkm got any advice?

Won't the 335i be a N55 ?

What about an f30 320d? All depends what you're looking for from the car.

If it were me i would go with the F30 320i and if possible try and extend the MP on your finance deal.

The 335i is an awesome machine but for your needs the F30 would suit you better.

I was sort of in the same situation.

I had the 323i e90 and wanted a 335i. One came my way and i took it.

But i used the 323i daily because i did more mileage than my wife, and let her drive the 335i to work.

Now she works from home and the 335i only gets used on the weekends.

The 323 just suited me better for fuel and travelling.

:argh: such a hard decision.

Just requested motorplan reports for the 335i, 320d and 320i,,,lets see what comes up.

I love the f30 interior but without msport, it looks too family like for me...im not even 25 yet :roflol:

I had a 335i with 105000 KM.

Turbo's blew
Power steering pump seized.
Injectors gave in.
Fan belt snapped ripping out all pulleys X 2
Water pump seized.

I did have a troublesome car and without plan it can hurt your pocket.
Go for the one with more plan.

Most of the guys that own 335's will say 335 and I agree, if you not use to the power go 320 but if you love the extra HP 335, after owning this car not much else will make sense...
Plus they giving you 2 years of MP so not bad..
