Hello Fanatics,

I need some advice, if at all possible, please.

I am looking/thinking about buying a 2005 e46 325i touring sports package, the kms are not to bad - 117000km's on the clock. The car is very neat with fsh . It is a dealer car retailing for R129,000. Is this a fair price for the milage etc. Can anyone give an idea on the average fuel consumption on this particular model and is the auto box in the 325i pretty good or trouble?
The car would be used daily and i will do around 1500km's a month

Thanks for reading my post.

Cheers
Steven,

Is it da grey one at da dealer, dont wana give out 2 much info, 325 sport very scarce in wagon, if you doing hiway runs go 4 it, I would consider it, offer him a little less as the e90 is going 4 around that price, offer around R100k max R110k:thumbs:

For year, mileage and the model the price doesn't seem that far off, might still be worth it to try and get the price down a bit though.

In terms of consumption you can expect it to be a bit more than a normal 325i as the touring is a bit heavier than the saloon (150kg i think), so should be around 10-11l/100km for urban driving.

These auto boxes do seem to give trouble, so it should be good idea to budget around 17k for a gearbox rebuild at some point in the future.

I love mine to bits. Manual box though and get around 11.2 around town and 7-8 open road. mines 2002 with 142k kms on it. so milege is nice on that one!

I paid R135k for my 2005 325i touring 2 years ago, it had only 87 000km and was still under motorplan.

Unless I am mistaken this car was for sale around 6 months ago but I am not sure. Personally I would have a manual but I don't like Auto at all. The price is on the high side though unless the car is in epic condition and judging from the one pic it doesn't look that way.

In terms on consumption expect around 11l/100km as my manual returns about 10l/100km with mixed driving.

OBC says mine is averaging 9.2lt/100km after I swapped out the manual 5spd for a 6spd box. With the 5spd I was getting 9.4lt/100km.
