Hi All, i am planning to take an advanced driving course in the near future and was hoping some of you have done so in the past and can recommend one that is fairly decent, at the moment i'm thinking of the BMW one as i believe they do the course in the same car i'm driving at the moment, 330i E90....Thanks

The course is definitely worthwhile. Whether in your own car or the one provided. I prefer doing it in a car other than your own. You are never going to drive your own car in normal conditions like you would on the track course.

Your tyres will be shot after the training session as well...its really intense. But you learn so much about steering, cornering, braking, swerve manouvers, speed and how to be aware/alert of other road users

Thanks, thats kind of what i/m thinking, the BMw course gives me a car to use which is the same one i'm driving so i don't have to mess up my wheels yet i get to know the capabilitys of my car...best of both worlds

Yeah, this course is fun. Just don't plan to do it when the weather might be raining as it will spoil your "track event" on the day.
When i did mine there was some tail action on the wet track and we weren't even going fast :joy:.

They don't use the 330s anymore, it has been replaced with the F30 328i.

The other alternatives are 135i, M3 and M5.

And 1M. I did the course in the 1M September last year. Awesome experience. :) :thumb:

Track driving in the 328i is around R2200 or there about. R3600 or so including the skid pan. Can't really remember, did it last year. On a side note, they told me then that you can only do the track driving in an M car if you owned one.

Not offered to non 1M owners. I think BMW wants to keep that one, well even a salesmen from BMW at last years Topgear show told me that the 1M on display is their advanced driving vehicle and it won't be for sale as they might be keeping it.
