Now here is a movie I can watch a few times! I can remember seeing the BMW CSL Batmobile at Kyalami in the Wynn's 1000 back in the seventies. Those were the days!

Adrenalin - The BMW Touring Car Story DVD

The first full scale look at the unique history of BMW in touring car racing.

No other manufacturer is so closely associated with success in the touring car field as BMW.

Whether DTM, WTCC or even the one make M1 Procar series, BMW lead the way in innovation and commitment.

The film starts back in the '60s and traces the development of BMW's machinery and of the races themselves.

There's loads of archive footage of classic BMW touring car action as guys like Stuck, Cecotto and Ravaglia go for broke, throwing their cars into lurid slide and generally pleasing the crowds.

Three-time World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx is one of the key interviewees and current BMW Motorsport DTM drivers Spengler and Augusto Farfus give us the benefits of their insights.

All-in-all this is set to become a classic of its type - a comprehensive, fascinating, amusing and thrilling look at one of the all-time great brands, through the eyes of those who know it best and contributed the most to forging its incredible reputation.

Just an update. I have now gotten hold of the film. A very arty documentary, nicely done. They let the drivers and team managers tell the story in their words. There is no narrator.

The problem is that large portions of the story is left out as each guy tells it from his point of view. There is little background info on the cars and races.

The other problem is that almost all of them speak German, so one gets to do a whole lot of subtitle reading while watching. Frankly, somewhat of a disappointment.
