ActiveHybrid 3

Hi All

Just wanted to find out how many other Active Hybrid owners there are out there at the moment, and whats the general consensus on BMW's way of going green ...

A few months ago I decided to go green, lol, yeah right ... :nonono:

Coming from a 2011 335i, i decided to move to a 2013 Active Hybrid 3.
Best choice ever, and heres my top 3 reasons why :

:joy:

- More Power
- Better Fuel Economy (Than my last 335i)
- Everyone thinks I'm going green, when I'm not, well maybe marginally.

Its quite honestly a wolf in sheeps clothing, quiet and silent in town, running on the Lithium ion battery but when you put your foot down, you get the full power of the battery AND the 3.0 Litre, 6 Cylinder Engine together, something that bmw calls e-boost.

Some pics below :

You're pics aren't displaying.

The only person I know on the forum to have owned one is phantom.

He had great things to say about it

Thanks for that :)
Changed the way I inserted the images, hoping it works.
Will check what Phantom posted on the AH.

Stunning cars but, more power than a 335i? :fencelook:

The Active Hybrid 7 is something I would kill for, especially the very limited Steinway&Sons spec :inlove:

Slightly faster 0-100 ... 335i (5.5) AH3 (5.3)

Torque is 335i (400) AH3 (440) including electric ...

And with e-boost, it couples the 225kw with the 40kw Electric motor ...
But you only get 250kw of that power ...

BTW that AH7 looks schweeet ...

Just change those wheels :fencelook:

Looking into that ...
But waiting for the i8 to come out so I can tell the owners, that they copied the wheels of my AH3

There was another forum member that owned one and seemed to be very very happy with it! Good performance (better than the normal 335i) and better economy! I also like the fact that it has proper aero wheels which are a turbine type design, and not a silly cosmetic nonsense where all the wheels are the same and therefore don't mirror in appearance from one side to the other.

I test drove one before they were launched in SA and i was really impressed....

Lots of power there and it feels and handles like a 3 series.:inlove:

I bought the mineral white in 2013.Traded it end 2013 and was just offered it back by the dealer as it was standing for 6months.I traded in my M135i and got the Active hybrid back and a cashback of R70000,00.
This was not a deal it was a steal.
These cars are a lot faster than the standard 335 and the most comfortable F30 i have ever driven. (12 in total)

Thanks for the info about the aero wheels. Might stick with them :praise:

I bought it as a factory demo, so was only too happy that it came with the Adaptive M Suspension

Just bought an AH3, was a Dealer Demo. First time BMW owner. Really like the car, great power, and comfortable. My car has different wheels, upgraded to 19inch. Car looks innocent !!! Ex Focus ST driver.

Nice one, congrats on becoming a BMW Owner. Definitely looks innocent ... And when everyone sees the hybrid badge, they think its a Prius :roflol:
Thats when you slam on the accelerator and let that e-boost take over.
