Shait !

Sorry about that dude. At least you were not too badly hurt.

Car looks like a write-off.

Yasis bro, im glad you are alive, after an impact like that i doubt that your insurance would repair that.

Glad you are OK, sorry about the car. Looks like the last week of the month is not good for BMW's. Skidded off the road and hit a tree in my E30 on 27 Jan, so this a painful reminder for me. But as said, BMW's keep you safe, second BMW I'm walking away from with just a few scratches.

That sounds fishy, which insurance are you with? Were they so quick to asess the car?

Wow!! This speaks volumes for BMW safety!! The most important thing is your are fine!! But that looks like a write-off sadly - the car did its job allowing you to walk away from this with your life!!

Glad you okay Buddy, that looks hectic.

As soon as all the airbags went off, the car was a write off.

Forget about the car, just be glad you are here to see tomorrow.

Thanks for all the input guys, insurance just phoned me and told me it's a write off.

Damn, glad you're okay.

+1 on the airbag deploy causing a write off. Any car that has an airbag deploy is immediately assumed written off :sorry:

Interesting, so cars without airbags are better off when it comes to an accident, on my car all the airbags would have deployed as well if it had any, but the car is definately not "beyond repair"

Does writing off apply to one or all airbags deploying, because even some fender benders can cause an airbag to deploy, or did the manufacturers get the "sensitivity settings" right in the newer cars?

Not too sure. It's pretty damn costly having an airbag fixed after deployment. But interesting question re sensitivity settings...

My insurance said the steering wheel air bag is not a big problem as that can be replaced at reasonable cost. The real problem comes in when your passenger air bag and curtain air bags deploy. When replacing the passenger air bag the entire dash needs to be replaced as it breaks apart when the air bag is deployed.
Same thing with the curtain air bags, Roof lining and covering on both front, middle and rear pillars.

And then you still need to add the cost of repairing the actual exterior of the car.

Thanks for the reply, do you have pictures of the dash airbags which have deployed, it would be informative to see what actually happens when the passenger side airbag deploys.
