Pricing is madness. I would rather drive around stock. Paying that amount and still getting beaten would be just too traumatic for words. If I am to mod, I will do it properly or not at all.

aftermarket products don't have the bmw motorplan warrantee ..

which they know & capitalize on :argh:

i was quoted 66k for the chip, downpipe and intercooler on an M235i.
power estimated to go from 240kw to 288kw.
motorplan intact and no need to stress on servicing or removing items at R800 a pop and missioning to tuners. this will make the car a lot faster.
just need to find out now how to reduce the weight on the car:nonono:
the A45 only has 265 kw so it should smash that making it worth the cost.
M235i with very good options paid R600k plus 66k still makes it a lot cheaper than the upcoming RS3 and a lot cheaper than an A45 with similair specs, plus its a bmw coupe not a hatchback.. its also 600k cheaper than an M4 so in my eyes not too bad

also i have been told that the upcoming RS3 and the current golf Rs are being watched with an eagle eye by the VAG group so tuning is not going to be the cheap breeze it used to be

Think we just found out what they will do for the new ///M2.
Same N55 motor with these few bits.

Thanks for that Reese.

Did you put your car on a dyno ? Keen to see results, I still think 66k is a hell of a lot just to keep you motor plan to be honest bmw quote power at fly not the wheels. A JB4 Modified car is going to be a lot quicker than a ACS car

Like i said earlier, the ACS chip is very aggressive, you will need your motorplan. I think JB is safer but then how much is your motorplan worth? Some people will never claim from the plan, other people claim every 2nd month...

im not too sure about that but maybe. all manufacturers quote fly wheel. A45 is not 265 at the wheels. and remember how much you lose when they take your motorplan, how often you claim is irrelevant. if you lose your motorplan the value of the car will go from 600 to 400. and then you have to take the JB4 out and delete error codes and stress about the car everytime it goes in. i'll send my car in with a smile no worries. Peace of mind i worth a lot to me.
i had JB4 in a previous 135 coupe so im not knocking it, i just dont have the balls to risk losing motorplan on a brand new car. if it was 2nd hand and worth 300k then i would do it in a heart beat.

AFAIK ACS is no longer accredited with bmw's motorplan .. if thats the reason u were looking at going ACS ... with just cooler and downpipe i dont think u would gain more than 15kw or so ... its the tune in conjunction with these mods that makes the power
