Hi All, how good is the AA Dekra Technical and Multiple Point inspection in checking for defects (mechanical and accident) Looking at a 325i, bit sceptical so just want some reassurance.

Hi there 3seriesman,

The Dekra Technical does give piece of mind. But it all depends on the branch you take it to, as well as the Inspector examining your vehicle.

When I bought my 3 series beginning of this year, I took it for a Technical inspection. paid ~R1.7k and it was quite informative. They do a full 360 scan on the body work, possible respray, deep scratches, check oil leaks, mm on Brake discs left, wheel alignment, braking force, etc.

The only downside I felt was that the inspector didn't really pin point more or less where my oil leak was on my vehicle when I bought her and with the bm's having the bottom covers the oil leak could be coming from anywhere in the engine bay. But like I said. It probably boils down to personal experience at a brand and examiner.

A friend of mine suggested that next time I purchase a vehicle privately, I should take it for a Bosch multipoint check and maybe bring along trusty bmwfanatics mechanic!

Would also like to hear others experiences or suggestions :)

P.s let me know if you're looking for a proper mechanic.
