Your best bet would probably to just go to a dealer and ask if there is a software upgrade for the A/T. It won't cost you anything to just ask, although the dealers would probably like to change this. Change the way they are refered to from Dealership to something like Vehice Consultants, then they can charge you for just asking questions, call it a consultation fee.
But if it causes problems like rick mentioned I would stear clear.

I had the software update done on my E39 at Tunetech. Was about R600 or so IIRC. Anyway, car was hunting a bit in the higher gears, and the software fixed that. Was also noticeably smoother gear changes.
