A sneak peek at our latest tuning product

Through all the fun things we've been busy with here at OBDWorx, one of the most exciting things has been the beta tuning we've been doing. I've held off on advertising these services, as Shaun's been spending a lot of time getting our back end systems in place.

Why all this effort for just doing tuning? Well, our approach to the tuning business is something (I think) a little unique. We're not interested in playing a numbers game or being Dyno Queens, our sole interest is providing tunes based on empirical numbers backed up by validated, repeatable results making use of REAL TIME LOGGING!

The concept is simple, with each of our tunes we bundle an OBD reader and load an app on a smartphone - this is done prior to any tune being loaded on a car. All telemetry being logged on the car this way is uploaded automatically in our datacentre in REAL TIME. Once we're comfortable that the vehicle is in good health, and we have a base line to work from, we then develop a tune based on the customers' requirements and is then loaded onto the car. Results are verified through logging to confirm the tune runs as expected.

For car models we've not worked on before, this tool is a godsend as we can develop a tuning strategy and verify straight away with little need to keep going back to a Dyno in order to verify improvements.

Using the smartphone app, you can have many different cars loaded on your profile and if you go onto the website, you can see yourself how your car is performing as you drive - this data is available for you to peruse at your leisure.

We feel that this is the next step in the evolution of the tuning business; making use of cloud based technologies in order to get up to the millisecond data!

Much of what we're doing at this stage is still in Beta stages, but we're at a point now where we've got these tools developed to a point where it's usable. Sure, a lot more work is needed, but this will come in time as the business grows.

But enough babbling, here's some pics of the data on the website.

And for those guys that don't want to have their MP cars put at risk, we're working on a solution for that as well that'll live inside the Hazmat ecosystem - watch this space!!

Now this is something I'd like to see!

Cutting edge tuning developments in our very own SA!
Please let me know if you need a beta tester, I already have a USB ELM327 dongle.

Keep it up man

Yes that is in the pipeline currently.
The current version of the app does show all sensors that's available along with the real time info, but does not look pretty atm. The next version (in the next week) will have some nice looking gauges.

Also, do you have an image of this PLX gauge :D

Wow looks pretty cool. Looks like really pioneering stuff. I'd be happy to test/collect data for you if it only requires an ELM327 dongle and android.

Am in the process of installing a 7" Android tablet into my dash and already have a bluetooth OBDII dongle, would be great to see this in action (I am currently Running Torque Pro for telemetry purposes). Let me know if you need any beta testers!

Excellent suggestion guys!

If you have ELM dongles, please send either myself or Shaun a PM so we can make you part of the beta testing process.
