A**holes Everywhere!

This is more of a rant but I just want to express my sadness and frustration.

Yesterday someone stole the front badge off my E70! This is not the first time either!

Last year the same thing happened with my E92. It drives me absolutely crazy how people have so little respect for others.

In the first two weeks of ownership of my E92 I even had someone try and steal my rims at a shopping center and all the suceeded to do was scratch the rim. Around the lock nut and a lug nut.

We are Fanatics and absolutely adore and cherish our cars and some entitled idiot thinks they're better than you comes along and hits you where it hurts.

Sorry for ranting but I thought this would be a place where people would understand my feelings of what happened.

Thanks for the read and enjoy the rest of your weekend all.

Where do you park Bud? I don't go anywhere near areas known for this.. Also stole mirror caps and mirrors off our F30 near Braamfontein last year.. Fully feel your pain, cost me a bit to replace too! They also stole my boss's spare wheel from under his Ranger Wildtrack, same area..

In general, it is all over, but just avoid higher risk areas.. It is what it is, people are desperate, that is the real problem and they can make quick bucks with emblems, mirrors, wheels. :dunnoanymore:

You not alone.

Tyre valves.
Scratching.
Dirty window marks as people stare inside.
Badges.
Tow hook caps.

So sorry man... that absolutely sucks...

It seems to be a real global problem, so many of these incidents pop up on the various groups... people have little respect for others property, pretty much everywhere nowadays it seems... very sad!

It is a real issue, I parked the convertible in the driveway, and I forgot to pull it in to the garage the night , they reached through the gate to get the badge, R900 odd later, couldn’t find an OEM badge for cheap

I feel your pain COidFuSion; I had those badges stolen twice at my wife's work place. My kidney grills got stolen twice on our driveway so I came up with bullet proof solution. Initially I parked the car right up against the garage door so they wouldn't get to them. Later I installed an infra red beam connected to my alarm. Since then we've had no thefts. When the car went for respray last month I asked them to glue the grills onto the hood.
The badges -easy. You have two options. You can use double sided sticky pads to under the badge to prevent it coming off easily (the stuff to stick mirrors on the wall). It actually works because a thief approaches it with the view that it's a 5 second job to just prize out even with a long finger nail, and when it refuses to budge they're caught completely off gaurd so they'll go find another easy target:bravo:
An alternative solution is that whenever you park in a dodgy area, just remove the badge yourself and put it back when you return- bit of an inconvenience but it works 100%.
SA is rife with petty crime and will be for the foreseeable future, so these are inconveniences we just have to live with. I even use a steering lock on my cars just to add a visible layer of security.

You're not alone :( We had the front badges stolen from the F30 4 times already from the parking spot of his surgery . Twice in the first year! I got fed up having to replace them . The first two were new , the second two were second hand , the forth one , I just took the old chipped metal badge that I had of my E30 , snipped off the metal hooks and glued it onto the car . It may not look pretty but its there and completes the front end , nobody's interested in a chipped Badge .

I do believe that even as a “Fanatic”, some people still have no respect for other people’s belongings.

Hectic stuff, I wanted to find out what can I use to stick the numbers on the rear of my car?

Problem with sticking them on with something strong is that they'll just do more damage taking them off...
