'99 523 inconsistent acceleration

Hi Guys. I have an issue for quit a while (~60.000km) with my 523.
Accelerations are weak / inconsistent mainly up to ~4000rpm. Then power is there, although some short hooking are still felt.
The more load there is on the engine, the more abvious are the symptoms (ie acceleration at full throttle uphill is unpleasant)
Driven "normally" no issues.
Fuel consumption normal ~ 8.3/100 on open road @ ~140
The car is 260k km. no oil consumption whatsoever.
Still goes at 220km/h without effort.

BMW changed petrol filter, had all services done as per book...but no improvment.
Any idea on your side?

Have the fuel pump checked, sounds like a low fuel pressure. Mine with the broken pump were very lazy up to 3000rpm and then only started performing, but also not to it's fullest peak, could handle high speeds but still had that little extra missing.
