Is the M in use everyday?
What can you say about the car at this mileage? maintenance? performance?
stock or worked?
How does the servicing work for you? private? agents?
Interested to knw what your take is as a fellow M3 owner? ;)

The ///M is my dream car, and i'm loving it!!!
I'm keeping it forever, and choose not to use it everyday.
The car is beautiful at this mileage. It all depends on how it has been treated. No complaints about performance. Its 100% stock, right down to the original radio and non-polished rims..... Just the way I wanted it.
My car was on a 9 year motorplan (yes 9, previously it could be extended to 9 years). So i keep the BMW fsh. Its a personal thing at the end of the day. There are very good alternatives available, maybe i will change to that when the time is right.

I share ur sentiments, mine is exactly the same & i prefer it that way, 100% stock!! & thats the way it shld be. Good to hear that the M is still running gr8. FSH is gud esp for a M3 , retains value. Keep um well.

My 3.0 german spec is also stock down to the radio, un polished rims and key remote.
As you said "just the way it sould be".
My car is now on 293000km with fsh from BMW hatfield/Gezina. i dont have the slightest worry about reliability and nothing major has ever gone wrong.
The car performs really well (check out “e36 M3 3.2 top speed”) and i drive it at least 4 out of the 7 day week.
I don’t think you have anything to worry about, since you are only halfway towards my mileage.
BTW – I drive my car really hard, but I have NEVER spinned, snap changed, drifted or made dougnuts which are all detrimental to the longevity of the car.
The engine can rev 7300rpm in 5th gear @265km/h for 30 minutes continuously (tested :) :nono: ) without breaking or deteriorating.
In fact it felt faster after that episode.
I also never take it over 2500rpm until the oil temp is on 70deg at least.

Brilliant!!! You the MAN!! to talk to :) Obviously at 293k on the clock you've def had some experience. Useful info esp for new m3 e36 owners. If i understand you correctly you have a M3 3.0 e36 (2door) not a 3.2l 4 door? for your input, anything more will be great, like pics of ur ride, maintenance advice etc etc.

BTW, how do you maintain the leather seats? Is there any way of ridding the cracks, i believe theres a spray for leather seats that eliminates the cracks? True? apart from going the re-upholstery route.

@FordKoppie ... " The engine can rev 7300rpm in 5th gear @265km/h for 30 minutes continuously ":hammerhead:

Please do tell where you managed that speed for that amount of time:excited:

M2M - you are correct in saying that it is a 2dr 3.0 e36.
@ Zabbo - you can reach Pofadder in 30 min time coming from Kakamas in northern cape doing that speed (dist = +/- 120km)
As for the seats - nobody that ever drove the car had a "weight problem" and the seats are not climbed over. They are climbed in and that is why my german spec seats' bolsters are still in perfect shape.
They still do wear however and once cracks start froming on the leather, there is no alternative but to replace.
You can dye them again, but it will never look like new again:bawling: unless you re upholster
