Although its never a good thing for a car manufacture to recall vehicles in comparison to the 3.4 million cars recalled by other manufactures, BMW wasn't too bad with just 6000.... im just saying, not defending their fukup, its sad that allot of people could have lost their lives because of this. :nonono:

Even if I had an E46, I wouldn't take it to Bmw ~) who knows what more problems your car will "magically inherit" once they done or the thought of those "part replacers", sorry I meant mechanics working on my car

oh lol i miss understood the article heading

i thought the only recalling 6000 E46's :roflol:

thats why i asked why 6000 only, what about the few other 100 of thousands of other E46.

so should we give our VIN and we qualify that number could easily rocket up:nonono:

Spoke to one of the ladies of service department at bmw Leo Haese, and she looked up my cars details, and all good. :joy:

According to her, BMWSA issued a list with VIN numbers to every dealership, of vehicles that might suffer from this issue. They will then check on their computers and try and trace the owners using the last listed information on their system.

They do suggest if you drive an E46 falling in this year range, you call them, and they can check it using your VIN or registration number, and on the system BMWSA would have made a note that would refer your car as one that qualifies for this recall, or not. :thumb:

Guys you could email BMW Customer Service, provide them your VIN and I am sure they can check and advise if you need to go in. This will prevent time wasting and driving around from dealer to dealer because usually with these recalls dealers somehow DONT know anything.....

The email address is customer.infoservice(at)bmw(dot)co(dot)za

doesn't this open the possibility of law suits from people who were in accidents with cars affected?
