Drove past a fairly banged up 1991 Conquest 1300 the other day. For sale for R22 500.00.

Asked my wife if she realised that I have bought a fully kitted 4l V8 BMW for significantly less that that.

Would you know if there any filings on the magnet in the sump cover?

I had a similar issue with the 528i, it stopped changing gears. Three mechs told me new box new box.

Found a gearbox specialist in Boksburg, changed oil & filter, and all was fixed up. All he told me was that the box would eventually need a complete service as there were some filings in the sump.

Told me complete overhaul before cluthes pack in is about 7k. If clucthes brake before service looking at about 21k.......hows that for price diff.
