540 thermostat?

So I took the 540 for a quick spin this morning and noticed that the temp gauge will move just outside of the blue area and there it will stay.

I must state that it is the first time that I drove the car after I removed the cluster to fit the instrumentation rings. All the other gauges work perfectly. Also I can't see the needle sticking anywhere.

When I fitted the rings I made 100% sure that I did not damage anything.

So? Thermostat maybe?

I would also think thermostat, it should be possible to take it out and just test it, just to be sure.
