Good Morning Everyone.
I have a 525i steptronic with a N52 and live in Lichtenburg NW, i have replaced both the radiator and the cooling fan on separate occasions, reason was, the radiator had a leak and fan not kicking.(work done by independent technician) the car has been fine and has made several trips to Jhb & Pta. Last year December i made two trips to cape town just after Touws River on my way to cape town the car started to lose power once i accelerate to overtake (no error message) but ride ok at a steady speed. It behaved like that for the two days in cape town, coming back the car was fine after Touws River back to its performance. On my second trip on the same December it made the same thing at the same spot and behaved same way in cape town cured itself after Touws River on my way back home.
How it does it, is like preventing the car from overheating like when one forgets to change a gear. what can be the problem? it has recently done that on my trip to Rustenburg on the mountain pass and became okay (no error messages)
