So, as above stated would the 5 series (shape before the E60, E39 if im not mistaken), will that fit the 3 series and if so, hopefully can i place RFTs on those rims?

looking at the 530d rim....will get style number in a bit

The E39 series didn't come standard with RFT, so there might be a problem with the Rim holding the RFT beading captive on a flat/deflated tyre

I don't think E39 wheels fit E46,E90,etc . They have low offsets like 20 comparable to M3's and there hub sizes are different . I stand to be corrected.

the centerbore for the E39 is 74.1, the centerbore for all other bmws is 72.6

You'll need like a hubcentric ring or so

for some reason bmwstyle sheels does not have the offset, but i know the e39 have offsets similar to the e60, the suspension is similar too,

concave is more noticeable on lower offsets.

Ash, now that is the style that i would like on my E39. Maybe we could swop wheels as i have a nice set of 17 inch rims that fit the 3 series cars. Have a 32mm offset. See pictures. Have two very good Bridgestone Potenzas on that have about 5-6mm tread and two very worn tyres. Size 235/40 x 17. Only problem is i am down under in Hermanus, so transport is gonna be costly. (I am thinking of taking the E39 for a spin - maybe Gauteng is on the cards)
