The owners of 328's will say 328. The owners of 335i will say 335i. Deep down I believe all of the above would have chosen the 335i if they could.

Hope you don't regret your decision, but having said that, the 328i is not too shabby and a great compromise.

I own a 328 and I still say 335, but the 328 is not that bad.

Boet... You made the perfect choice. 328i FTW.

I drove my mates 2013 328i from Durban to Jozi last year, and I've never enjoyed a car like that. Yes, maybe the sound isn't like a straight six, but R100k saving plus the spec is a no brainer.

I would personally go for a 328i over the 335i if there was a R100k saving... Especially since you're buying a property. It's not even negotiable that the cheapest car (which isn't even the worst) is the right choice.

On the plus side, you saved 100k on a better speced car, which should hopefully help with the resale (not that BMW are known for their resale).

330d would have been the sweet spot, but I'm biased :fishwack:

I've always thought the 330d a great compromise between performance and economy. I drove one week ago; it's very torquey though, in all honesty, motorheads want the gear stretching higher than 4000rpm.

I figure i will only keep the car around two years; will look forward to trading in for the 335 (or whatever better model) Beemers brings to market by then.

Will post up some pics when I get the car.

I agree, the 330d is a far cry from the high reving petrol engines, and definitely not as fun to drive, but in terms of daily driving, which let's face it, is 90% of the driving that people do, the car is a dream.

That being said, I'd still be extremely happy with a 328i - it's definitely no slouch.

Doesn't the facelift F30 promise to bring a 340i...? :fencelook:
