4 pipe over 335i

Hi guys

I finally decided to rather get the 4 pipe instead of 335. My swaar got 335i coupe standard and it is one hell of a car for price. With xcede sw it will run like clappers but at the end of the day you have to admit that it is not a M car.

I'll be looking at post June 2003 model as I've heard that they perform better. Mods planned will be xhaust, xcede, induction and shrick cams to finish it off. Will look at doing the suspension as well as will be looking at occasional track days.

What I need to know is,
1. who and what is best xhaust and size., also cost if possible Don't want droning like I had in my 328i.
2. What induction kit is best and cost
3. cost of xcede map.
4. I saw shrick cams for 17K on gumtree.
5. cost for HR or Tein suspension.

I do enter drags so will need a nice strong N/A car and will attempting the track day thing as well.

With my current 4dr E36 M3 I won all my race's against 335/135. they sit just behind my back bumper. This is down at coast.

My car is for sale on Gumtree if you guys wanna check it out.

Awesome stuff bro

1) Exhaust is kinda tricky....Some say it works, some say it doesn't, Before & After dyno is a must
options are Van Der Linde, SAVSPEED, TNT, Wildcat etc Overseas- Remus, Turner, Dinan, Eisenmann, Supersprint

2) Also tricky as STOCK Intake systems works like a charm, but ur options are Gruppe M, Delage, K&N Typhoon, AFE

3) Xcede map - Speak to Sherwin JHB or Shaan KZN

4) Plus minus R12k to R25k for Shrick cams is what you looking at

5) H&R - Around R6k fitted

Thanks 4 reply. Heard a van de Linde exhaust on my friends E92 M3. Must say it sounded very sweet.

That car is a beast:clap:

options are Van Der Linde, SAVSPEED, TNT, Wildcat etc Overseas- Remus, Turner, Dinan, Eisenmann, Supersprint - it doesnt, unless you replace the branches but there is minimal gains, not like the yanks who have Cat's in the headers on their M3's.Best thing to do is remove the cats and leave the rest alone

2) Also tricky as STOCK Intake systems works like a charm, but ur options are Gruppe M, Delage, K&N Typhoon, AFE - Once again, minimal gains per Rand spent. The stock system works particularly well. There are plenty articles on the web (from 3rd parties) to vindicate the stock OEM intake system

3) Xcede map - Speak to Sherwin JHB or Shaan KZN

4) Plus minus R12k to R25k for Shrick cams is what you looking at

5) H&R - Around R6k fitted - Thats just for springs, for shocks add another 8-20k on top of that, depending on whether you want coilovers or not.

Any parts you need PM me, i have direct access to most of the top US manafacturers and can import parts at very reasonable prices.

Great decision!

If you plan on tracking your car then you should really consider looking at areas other than outright performance and save yourself from wasting lots of cash on minimal N/A gains that you will get. F/I is a different story.

If comfort and looks don't bother you too much and performance is the name of the game, then shed weight. As much as you can to suit your needs. Make sure your car can stop... over and over preferrably without fade :). pads, fluid and lines can do wonders even on stock rotors.

Check for cracks in the subframe and replace suspension bushings. Stiffer springs & koni shocks if you're on a tight budget or coilovers if not. Remove you CDV.

Also, wouldn't you prefer to make sure that your motor is running in factory condition before modding? Much like having a proper foundation when you build you house... Cooling piping, thermostat, fan clutch, water pump, radiator, alternator, fuel pump, starter, coil packs, seals, belts, clean injectors, filters..etc etc.

This is just something to consider, all these parts are getting old and worn and you never really know how the car was treated for the last 6 or 7 years. And when pushing at 10/10ths on a track, i'm sure you'd prefer that none of these parts fail. Safety is key and you need to be able to trust your machine.

None of this realllllllly matter ofcourse if you're doing it just for fun and you are more interested in drags.

once again great decision on the M car, now use what you're paying for, explore the limits of your chassis and brakes.. deep down, even you know that it's not all about power or you'd have bought the 335 or a 320d and chipped it

my 1c fifty:thumbsup:

guys, what is the best sounding exhaust system and also giving you some nice performance gains

Sound, i would go for an eisenmann kit. Expensive but worth it. Performance, you will get a few kw's, maybe 3 or 4. Was just at Savspeed this morning talking about it. The E46 M3's branches/exhaust were designed very well and there arent many gains from the cat's back.

I would however remove your cat's if they havent been already.
