Want some opinions on the engine in the 4.4l E53 X5 (2004+). I know the running costs of the X5 are generally reasonable (as I owned a 3.0d) out of MP. Even the 19" X5 tyres are reasonable, considering their width.
However, just curious on what the 4.4l motor is like in the facelifted version (2004+). Are they generally reliable and decent wrt consumption?
Not gonna buy one anytime soon, but I see lots of them are now sub R200k and that looks like very good value for money considering how well kitted most of the X5's are. 4.8is are holding their value much better, which puts the 4.4l into the affordable bracket as there seems to be less demand for them.
Opinions, feedback, horror stories, ownership experiences welcome ....
