3l Z4 0-100kph

I would be rubbing a bit of salt into the wound when I point out that the test results are for the "tardy" steptronic (read.."Auto" ) Z4 Coupe and a manual E90 330D.

It must be pointed out (respectfully :) ) that most road tests for the manual and auto on the Internet found their 0-100kph times to be about the same or no more than 0.1 second difference.

I made the tardy statement regarding the gearbox - look at truespeed’s test results for the manual Z4 and the Z4 steptronic (apples with apples) and get back to me. I actually posted the link to both in this thread, so it will be easy to find.

Regarding the 330d vs Z4, I was referring to an LCI 330d as I wasn’t sure which model the Z4 in question was. The pre-LCI 330d (which you listed) and the LCI are worlds apart in terms of performance.

Stock E90 330d LCI of mine ran 207 kph on the 1km at ODI raceway with a full tank of fuel. No comparison.

Yes Guys, i was comparing the 3l Z4 to so called "hot hatches" as i was always under the impression they were quite fast and that one should be scared of having a "dice" against a Golf GTi 5 or newer model. I have owned an E46 330d manual, a pre LCI E90 330d auto, an E46 330i five speed manual but the Z4 is faster in my opinion although i have never driven any of my cars in anger and have never had any interest in doing 0 to 100 in the shortest time, it is nice to know that the Z4 has what it takes to beat a lot of cars when called for. I must admit that i had the E90 "reprogrammed" and when i wanted to sell it the buyer had it test driven by the owner of Brilliant Mech Workshop who really gunned it and i was astonished at the performance. I never had the car on a dyno but assume it made about 550Nm. That car should show the Z4 a clean pair of heels here at the coast.
