Hi guys,

My car makes a high pitch noise similar to the noise made by brakes when they are worn out or when the brake discs have dirt on them.

It makes the sound when I am driving slowly, from pull off to about 80km. I do not get any warning lights or messages, engine sounds fine, car drives perfectly...except for that noise.

My car is 2008 E90 335i, 92000km, Auto (Steptronic)

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

My car had extensive work done at the agents recently and one of the things that they replaced was the tappet cover gasket. The reason being that the car was making a whistling sound. My car had no oil leaks though.:fencelook:

I have the same problem, E90 330i, it sounds as if there is dust on the brakes.. car also seems to be fine, Bmw said i should use a pressure washer and clean the dust from brakes, but its not working. still making that noise

Google e90 brake sensor noise

Dealers know about the issue and will replace if you complain.
I had mine done a long time ago, and the noise never returned.

Of course, this is assuming your squeeling noises are from the wheels.

Eish. This is a crappy issue. Had mine in two weeks ago for the exact same issue.
They replaced brake shoes, brake sensors and did a bunch of other stuff..

Last night when I left the parking lot looking all slick, the screetching noise returned with a vengeance...:thumbdo:

So now i juts punish her!

I've had my car for 9 months and it's been at Cedar Isle four or five times for this squealing. Motorplan refused to pay for new brakes twice (I'm on my 3rd set) when I complained. They said there's no solution except to clean the brakes with a high pressure hose. It's a common problem on the 335i and 330i. The problem lies in the brake pads used (they explained it to me) so replacing them will make the problem go away for a month or so. I've given up!

Maybe the noise is caused by your mother in law still stuck under the car from when you ran her over?? :dunno:

same problem with my 335i, 2nd set od discs and pads.

either spray copper grease on back of brake pads or you can buy 3M rubber pads at midas that you stick on back of brake pads.
