335i Secondary Cat Delete Questions?

Hi Fanatics

I would like to find out from the experts here, what are the benefits to secondary cat delete? the two on the mid pipe? on a 2007 E90 335i

Will it change the sound of the car?
Will it increase power?
Will it throw error codes?

Morning bud,

Yes there is a change , slightly louder.
Restriction in the exhaust is mostly in the dp but you may benefit slightly from removing more but I think negligible unless they are blocked.
No codes whatsoever.

Just remember if your turbos are leaking, removing the cats will allow for some smoking.

There are a few reason the car may smoke but the most likely reason with the n54 is turbos seals especially if they have done a good amount of mileage.

Having said that not all cars smoke, do you still have stock down pipes ?

Remove the secondaries and replace with free flow silencers/resonators else the drone will get annoying

I went in today to De Graaf undercar

He quoted me Yesterday, today I hear he gave me a quote where he keeps both the cats which was unacceptable, as this is a expensive part to put back when I need to sell the car in the future

Do any of you guys know a reliable place where I can remove the seconds Cats that does a nice job with the and can weld very neatly? I need it to look very neat

I paid R300 at Supa Quick on Garsfontein Road.

I have an e90 2007 335i, no drone, no smoke, car is louder on cold start up.

Why not do catless DP's first? I think the stock exhaust with catless DP sounds pretty good.
At least by doing DP you will get some good gains.

Hey guys thanks for the suggestions, I thought of doing DP's first but my budget is restricted at the moment after I bought Mags, Tyres and did the Center bearing on the propshaft last month (Also saving up for a JB4)

Will definitely try Excede or TMSS when I have funds and some free time
