335i Rear Floating

What's up Gents.

So finally got the ar back from BM but I'm not happy.

Yesterday I took the 335i out to ODI to go and see some racing (I didn't race)

On the way there and back doing 120 on the highway the car feels very unstable on the road. I swerved to the left to avoid a pothole and felt the car is very loose on the rear. Even my boet that sat in the back said that the car doesn't feel very safe.

My boss drives a 325i e90 and I have to say he's cars handling is 100 times better than mine.

It feels like the rear tires are flat and that it takes the car some time to correct it self. Almost like the suspension is shot. It feels like the ass wants to come out all the time and I feel i can't trust the car doing highway speeds or swerving out for something.

I checked the tire pressures and all is good.

The next step is to have the suspension tested and see if the rear shock absorbers are still good.

Anyone else experienced this before?
Not I have only had the car for 3 weeks.

Haven't experienced this with my car.

But i was also think you should have the shocked looked at.

I have experienced this.. It was the RTAB's that were shot. But it could be the shocks.

Rear trailing arms bushes

+1 on this, but mainly affected the e46 M3s, especially SMG equipped cars. Used to get loose at the rear between gears and almost sideways on the highway at some speeds... Scary stuff.

Soooooo. I had the suspension tested on Saturday morning at Tyre Mart in Roodepoort. And guess what. All 4 shocks needs to be replaced.

Now my question is. Before the car gets sold second hand it goes through a road worthy test. How did they miss something like this?

Edit: Motorplan will cover this cost. The car goes in to BM on Tuesday again

Whatsup Guys,

Okay so the car is still with BM atm, and apparently its not anything to do with the shocks.

One of the engineers actually test drove the car and said they can not fault it. :RedNo::RedNo::RedNo::RedNo::RedNo:

So now you tell me, how can someone drive a BM and not feel that the ass is loose on the road especially when braking from about 80KPH and doing a slalom like move..

I am so speechless to even think we trust BM with our cars. How can i get it into their monkey brains that there is a problem?

There were a few issues,

- N55 Rattle on Cold Start
- Loose handbrake Cable and rattle in the rear right wheel when going over uneven surfaces
- Rattle in Passenger head light
- Car feeling very unsafe at highway speeds and braking hard at a traffic light
- Water spewing out from water cap when the car is hot. I have to constantly top up with water
- Car feels under powered

I fear you may have gasket issues or worse (cracked head) which is over pressurising the coolant system, will also explain why the car feels under-powered.

Have a compression test done to be sure.

It is still under Motorplan. And extending it now as well. They claimed oil sludge could be the cause but they tested it and confirmed there is no sludge
